A Guardian Family means the dog would live with you forever as a member of your family but we would retain breeding rights.
Once the dog is done with his/her breeding career, the dog will be spayed/neutered and full ownership would be transferred to you.
You would be responsible for all normal pet expenses such as food, vet visits, grooming, training, etc. I would retain breeding rights and would pay for any breeding related expenses.
The Female Puppy
Guardian Family submits a $2000 security deposit that will be returned if the dog passes health testing and participates fully in our breeding program.
Between 1-2 years of age, we'll do all of her health testing. If she passes everything she would join our breeding program. Dogs typically come into heat every 6-7 months. If we are breeding her on her cycle, she would come visit our home to be bred, then you can enjoy watching her progress through her 9 week pregnancy. Once she is close to her due date, she would come back to our home to deliver and wean her pups. This usually takes about 7 weeks and then she would return to your home.
We will determine how many litters the female will have for our program but 4 litters is the maximum. Plus, no dog will be bred past 6 years of age.
If the dog does not pass health testing then she is spayed and remains with you as your pet.
The Male Puppy
Guardian Family submits a $2000 security deposit that will be returned if the dog passes health testing and participates fully in our breeding program.
At around 1 year of age, we'll do all of his health testing. If he passes everything he would join our breeding program. The dog would visit our home when a girl is cycling. This typically entails 3-4 quick 30-60 minute rendezvous spread out over a week. 😉 No dog will be bred past 6 years of age.
If the dog does not pass health testing then the dog is neutered and remains with you as your pet.
